There was usually one SECANTS meeting per term. Each seminar held on a single day (usually a Saturday), and we expect between 3 and 5 talks at each seminar. Most speakers so far have been from the UK, with some from overseas (J. Buchmann from Germany at Secants 5 and F. Lunnon from Eire at Secants 6). Between 1997 and 2000, thanks to additional funding from Hewlett-Packard, we were able to afford to have one overseas speaker each term: Rene Schoof at Secants 7, Henri Cohen at Secants 8, Wieb Bosma at Secants 9, Thomas Papalikonaou at Secants 10, Ed Schaefer at Secants 11, Edlyn Teske at Secants 15. At Secants 12 and Secants 15, there was a series of short presentations by current PhD students in number theory. We expect this to be a regular feature of future Secants meetings.
