By plane

Although the London area is served by several airports, we would strongly recommend you fly to and from London Heathrow (LHR). Royal Holloway is only a few miles from the airport, which is a very short journey.

The easiest way to reach Royal Holloway from Heathrow is by taxi. The cheapest and best option will be to book an Egham taxi, which will cost around 20-25 pounds.

Gemini Taxis +44 (1784) 47 11 11
Area Cars +44 (1784) 47 10 01
Egham Cars +44 (1784) 43 46 46

Gemini Taxis also have the option to book online; by supplying your flight number and terminal, they will monitor your flight and have a taxi waiting for you when you arrive.

Alternatively, you can take bus # 441 from Heathrow Central Bus station. From Terminal 5, take bus # 71. These buses stop close to the main campus entrance in Englefield Green (ask the driver to let you know). The journey takes between 30-50 minutes.

By train

Egham is approximately 40-50 minutes by train from central London, operated by South West Trains (Pdf timetable here). The line you need to use is from London Waterloo to Reading.

If you are traveling into the UK by Eurostar, you will arrive in St Pancras station. The best option will be to use the London Underground (also referred to as ‘The Tube’) to get to Waterloo station on the Northern line.

From Egham train station, you can walk (up Egham Hill) to the college in 15-20 minutes (see here). If you wish to take a taxi, the cheaper option will be to order one of the taxis from the companies listed above, instead of using the taxis waiting at the station. Alternatively, if you walk out of the train station onto Station Road, you will see Gemini Car’s office to your right.
