The following research groups maintain web pages with useful links.

A big first plug for the one and only COSIC in Leuven, Belgium (but don't confuse them with COSIC, although at times the similarities are uncanny) .
There is in fact another crypto group in Belgium and they have a good home page.
The Center for Applied Cryptographic Research at the University of Waterloo.
I have been a regular visitor at the Centre for Computer Security Research at the University of Wollongong.
The ISRC at QUT in Brisbane.

The UCL Crypto Group have a good home page with a very extensive list of cryptography conferences calls.
Another list can be found on the homepage of the IACR.

Finding people on the web can sometimes be surprisingly difficult, but the following sites have made life just a little bit easier.

Interesting information can often be found on the homepages of individual cryptographers - Home Pages of Cryptographers is one portal site that is maintained by the University of California at Berkeley.
A list of homepages of combinatorial people (I'm not sure about that term!)

All happening cryptological things have something to do with the International Association for Cryptologic Research.
The most famous security alert service is CERT.
I am a member of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications.
I do a fair amount of refereeing for The Institution of Electronic Engineers...
... as well as for the The IEEE.
I tend to try to be very nice to the EPSRC because they sometimes have scraps of money to give away.
This is the CESG homepage, but I can't tell you what they do there.

I must confess that I get very confused by all these privacy organisations, but many of them have interesting stuff so here is another link - this time the Privacy Foundation.

I am an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology.
The SIAM Journal on Discrete Mathematics.
The Journal of Craptology, a high quality international journal discussing important and topical matters of trivia, unimportance, nonsense and general lack of intellectual content.

There are a number of (online) information security publications (other than journals) which sometimes have interesting articles.

The Royal Holloway Library .
The IT World is full of an amazing amount of verbal gobbledygook and one site which has made attempts to guide you through the acronym minefield is Whatis?.
A good site concerning electronic voting.
Google.
