OWASP Seminars at ISG Royal Holloway - next event 8th September 2011

RHULOn Friday, 3rd June, the ISG and OWASP (Open Web Application Security Project) held a joint seminar at Royal Holloway. The speaker for the seminar was Steve Lord (Technical Director at Mandalorian) who gave a presentation entitled "Wordpress Security". The seminar was a collaborative event between the ISG and OWASP.

Royal Holloway Awards Honorary Fellowship to Prof. Fred Piper

Prof. Fred PiperThe ISG is pleased and proud to report that Prof. Fred Piper was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by Royal Holloway, University of London, in a ceremony yesterday. Royal Holloway only awards fellowships to those people who have made an outstanding contribution to Royal Holloway and to society at large. Royal Holloway has only awarded 97 honorary fellowships in its history.

ISG Invites Applications for a Research Assistant in Cryptography

RHULApplications are invited for a research position in the Information Security Group at Royal Holloway, University of London, to work on cryptographic research for the International Technical Alliance (ITA) project.

Search Security Award Articles Published

Search SecurityThe ISG announced the winners of the 2010 Search Security Awards back in March. These awards are given to ISG students who produce outstanding M.Sc. theses with particular relevance to business. The winners of these awards are invited to submit articles for publication on the Search Security blog. The ISG would like to congratulate the winners on the publication of these articles which are now available.

Prof. Piper's ISSA Ireland Keynote Speech Published in Silicon Republic

ISSAProf. Piper gave a keynote speech at the ISSA Ireland National Conference in Dublin on Wednesday. The ISG is happy to note that some of the details of his speech were picked up in the digital magazine Silicon Republic who used Fred's talk as a mechanism to discuss the relationship between business and security.
